Are these different conceptions, structural binary oppositions that are used by us humans to classify the world we live in and to classify our thoughts in harmony with this - a classificatory system?
If so, then the boundary between them is of crucial importance if we are successfully to continue making sence of ourselves and the world we inhabit, please correct me if I'm wrong. Everything is relational - the black is black only in relation to the white and if there wasn't evil the concept of good would never be possible etc. This is also one way of puting it: "The weak ones are there to justify the strong", (?). Now let's take a look at this conjunction (juxtaposition) of code n logo type of thing. What do we have here:

NO CODE vs NO LOGO
Vedder vs Klein

Well, isn't every logo meant, or at least should be meant, as some kind of a code? A symbol? A kind of silent communication - a message (that might without words incite you to "dare!" or not to dare, whatever). It is an alternative way of communicating, emiting and recieving sentiments and thoughts and messages through alternative channels of communication by using special meaning carriers, designed to be decoded by a certain target group.Only not quite the same kind of code. Why? The Code is suposed to veil the message while the Logo is supose to reveal it, right.

The difference between some kind of secret code n commercial logo would thus be in the size of the target group that is addressed.

Code (the most secret kind of) is aiming at a closed exclusive community and is using the internal understandings and agreements to carry the message through to the recipients, the target group, and at the same time hiding the meaning from the outsiders, from the non-invited. Logo (of a commercial kind), on the other hand, is aiming at everyone, thus using the most broadly shared perceptions and worldviews to uncover the message - which is usualy revolving arround making itself attractive, rememberable, irresistible etc. So these two extremes could, when put this way, be used to exhibit the scale, the range or spectrum on which the whole idea is based. However, the boundary between the extremes is not easy to draw. I even doubt it is possible at all. So off I go again blurring the boundaries all over the place.

Eddie Vedder said "it's called No Code because it's full of code. It's misinformation.", (http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/PearlJam/echoes/fritz2.html)

Perhaps there is no original, and if there is no original than there is no fake - immitations might be something else than faking. How 'bout "inspiration" instead? Then the direction of the stream of thought doesn't matter anny more, right - and questions like who's fake and who's not and who copied whom just don't make sence any more:))) We are all connected, interconnected, transconnected, overlapping, colliding, contradicting and embracing each other through the axes of time and space - that is how we insire each other. For good and for bad:)))

MANKIND

You'll be.... going out with radio
Going out with disco
Going out like bacchanal
I'll be...going out with telephone
Going out alone
To the radar zone

It's all just inadvertent imitation
And I don't mean mine
It's all across this nation
If it's just inadvertent simulation
A pattern in all mankind
What's got the whole world fakin' it

I'll be.... playing with my magazine
Using up my Listerine
Like Ovaltine
And you'll be...dipping in your battleship
For the latest tip
For the latest dream

It's all just inadvertent imitation
And I don't mean mine
It's all across this nation
If it's just inadvertent simulation
A pattern in all mankind
What's got the whole world fakin' it?

If it's just inadvertent imitation
A pattern in all mankind
What's got the whole world fakin'?
What's got the whole world fakin'?
What's got the whole world fakin'?
What's got the whole world fakin'?
What's got the whole world fakin' it?
