Heaven

Guest of the week
Here we go, time for a new “Be my guest”. Next Guest commented my photos over at our Daily photo diary. I browsed through her photos and found out that she was using photos in combination with lyrics to express herself – the same thing that I do. That’s why I invited her to join us here at SJJJ. She was kind enough to accept the "challenge" :)
Her name is Gloria Barrientos. She is a mother of two young adult children and she has a passion for photography. Gloria enjoys music just as much as taking pictures and she loves to use it as a form of expression. She have been photographing friends and family for years, but a little over a year ago, she began to take it more seriously and have expanded portfolio, which now includes a broader range of landscape shots. You can find great work over at Gloria's photo blog: http://photoblog.com/Katlover.

Wow! This is so off the wall Gloria! The very first impression that I got while looking at this picture I just couldn't grasp with reflective analysis... my cognitive scrutiny didn't suffice 'coz it just kept (mis)leading me to conclusion that the picture is but a platitude resembling what is already been depicted in so many ways - resembling the Creation of Adam and such... but still, these efforts to wrap the picture in words didn't cut it... and it is because of this emidiate tension I feel throughout the whole picture, the tension as it pierces from within and takes hold of the observer... the tension with enormous power and sustain... the tension of ripped skies and shattered dark that at the same time isn't all that certain and should by no means be taken for granted - ever...
And I recognize this kind of tension - but I couldn't place it... after a while it emerged for me... check out the cover (and the content) of "Letters to Sam" by Daniel Gottlieb... it's the similar sentiment and tension - kind of - only you did it so much better! Nice job!

Heaven

I see the way you look at me
As if to say its right
I pray for you day in and day out

Something's happening to me
The man I used to be he's gone
He gave up his life
So I could go on
Girl, on into heaven
Where the love of a lifetime resides
In you
Girl there's heaven in you babe
Oh Girl and it's so meant to be
This place where two souls collide
There's no pain, no fear, only you and I

Something's happening to me
The man I used to be he's gone
He gave up his life
So I could go on and on
Girl, on into heaven
Where the love of a lifetime resides
Somewhere in you girl
I've been looking for heaven babe
See I spent my lifetime only to find
Heaven's in you
Heaven's in you babe
Here I spent a lifetime
Trying to find heaven yeah

Searching my lifetime
Trying to find heaven yeah
Umm Babe
Gotta find you
Come on girl
Heaven's in you babe
Yeah it's right there
Inside your heart babe Ooh Girl
I've been looking for heaven babe
Where the love of a lifetime yeah,
It resides somewhere in you girl
I've been looking for heaven babe
See I spent my lifetime
Trying to find it
yeah, eah yeah
I, I oooh girl
I want you baby
I want to give my love to you
Yeah Baby
Heaven's right there in your heart girl
Heaven's inside of you
Heaven's inside of you
Yeahhhh

Heaven's in you
Heaven's in you babe
It's right there
On the inside
Heaven's in you girl
You're like heaven
You're the love of a lifetime
And I find my strength in you

Haris, I thank you for your insightful discription of my work. I did check out the Letters to Sam book and I have to say, it was spellbinding! And I only read a few pages of it, but I'm definately going to read the whole book very soon....and your right, the part you spoke of, the tearing, the fragile nature of love, whether it is the love of a child and parent or two people brought together for whatever reason, it is not to be taken lightly....there is a sort of metamorphis that goes on when one gives in to love, and every stage has a bit of pain and a bit of exultation in it...I feel bad for those who choose to keep their hearts gaurded, for once the soul has submitted to love, there is no real need for fear.....

Is it just me or can anyone else see the pretty sharp line outlining the shape of the heart in this photo - apex being at the very high top of the lowest beam of sun sliding upwards east of the left hand on the right, making a smooth turn across the thick calvus cloud and the wrist and then gliding down across the backdrop of stratiformis cloud (thnk god for wikipedia) forming a right halfcircle of the scalloped contour of the Valentine's heart?

No, no. It's not just you!

That "pretty sharp line" work very well with
"Inside your heart I've been looking for heaven"
line.

Haha!!! I never even saw that when I was working on this photo, but I have said in the past that I sometimes work with my subconscience leading and my hands following....
